Ciao from Rotterdam: Gamine owner since 1992!
Inviato: 28.06.2021, 16:58
Hello & Thank you to the site owner and all contributors for this forum!
I found my Vignale Gamine in Sydney Australia in 1992 and put it in a plane to Amsterdam. A full restoration back to its original color took place in 2017, after 25 years of ownership. Still love her as much as the first day I put eyes on her!! The story is online since about 1997, when I started the Gamine pages. After the year 2000 not really much changed, except for family/4kids/house/work!
The history 'Flying Gamine' can be found here: https://translate.google.com/translate? ... egend.html (in Italian, with help of Google Translate)
Last year, in May 2020, we finally started to put all the known Gamines into a Register. As the production numbers were lost when Alfredo sold his Carrozzeria to De Tomaso, we can only try and find out how many Gamines are left in the world. At this moment, with help from Claudio Mattioli (CH), Jérôme Rougé (FR) and Christian Schmitt (DE), we were able to unit 551 Gamines in 29 countries! We also were able to already add 275 chassisnumbers to the Register. Offcourse this is the only way to avoid doubles!
Hopefully more Gamines/chassisnumbers will be added in the future!
Thanks again,
Martin
